R16 is an annual celebration of urban cultures in the form of dancing, music and art that takes place in Korea. Every year, R16 hosts an international invitational Battle Tournament between streetdancers of 16 countries.

For the first time this year, R16 is hosting a series of qualifying events around the world to find people to represent their country in the Popping and Locking solo categories.

The R16 South East Asia qualifiers will be held at Starhub Urban Freestyle 2010 at the Padang, Singapore on Saturday April 10 2010.

BATTLE CATEGORIES:
1 vs 1 Locking
1 vs 1 Popping
2 vs 2 Breaking

The winners of the Popping and Locking categories will win the right to represent their country at the World Finals in Seoul, Korea from July 4th-5th including airfare, accomodation and food.

The winners of the Breaking 2 vs 2 will win a cash prize of $500 SGD.

Registration is $20 per Popping and Locking contestant, and $30 for a Bboy Team.

The event is free to watch as it is part of the Starhub Urban Freestyle Fest, so come on down and catch some of the best dancers from South East Asia in action!
